CHRISTCHURCH RESTARTS
Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism has launched a blog site called "Pop Up City Christchurch" http://popupcity.co.nz which keeps visitors well updated on what's new in the city. The creation of new bars, restaurants and entertaining spaces is giving the city a very strong recovery feel. In January the resilience of Christchurch was acknowedged when Lonely Planet said Christchurch is re-emerging as one of New Zealand's most exciting cities. Christchurch's i-SITE Visitor Centre now has a specially designed portable home in a central location, in the Botanic Gardens beside Canterbury Museum in Rolleston Avenue. It is proving a busy hub for visitors wanting information about the new Christchurch and New Zealand. Christchurch Airport is the gateway to the South Island and has not been affected by the earthquake. During recent times the airport has been undergoing extensive renovation and expansion and is looking great. Well and truly ready to receive visitors.
Helping visitors find accommodation is our contribution to Christchurch as we hope it will be matched by you in coming here to this still beautiful city.
